Frequently Asked Questions

3D illustration of popcorn on a movie screen

Q: What time will you arrive to setup my outdoor movie?
A: We will arrive approximately two hours prior to your scheduled movie start time. We will have music playing as your guests arrive.

What are your weather and rescheduling policies?

Rain or high winds can lead to postponement of your event. We provide options for rescheduling your event to an available date in the future.

If the weather looks inclement the day of your event, you have the option of postponing your movie PRIOR to our technician arriving at no additional charge.  If the technician arrives on site and bad weather moves in, there will be a labor charge to postpone your event.  We can setup equipment with winds of up to 15 mph, however, for the safety of you, your guests and our technical staff, screens will be immediately deflated and electronic equipment covered and/or moved when winds exceed 20 miles per hour or it begins to rain steadily.  If your movie is playing and has passed the halfway mark, no make-up date will be offered.  Because of the precariousness of our Atlanta weather, we do our best to accommodate postponements and prefer that all events be rescheduled within six months of the original event date.

Q:  Can my movie be moved indoors?

A:  Should weather be a concern, yes we can easily setup your screen in a covered indoor space.  You will just need adequate space and access to power   Let your technician know prior to arrival so that he/she can provide weights to properly secure the screen.

Q: What kind of power is required?
A: Our 17 foot screen can run off of one outlet.  Our 25-foot screen will require a minimum of two separate outlets.

Q: What if we do not have access to a wall outlet for power?
A: We will provide generators to run power for our equipment.

Q: How long do we get to keep the screen and equipment?
A: Our typical rental period is four hours, including setup, movie playing time and breakdown following the event.  Depending on screen size, it typically takes 1-2 hours for setup and 1 hour or less for breakdown.  We will need a smooth flat area for setup of the inflatable screen.  We typically use tent stakes in the ground to secure the screen safely.  If tent stakes are not allowed, an acceptable alternative for securing the screen must be provided.  Should you want to show more than one movie, there will be an additional labor charge of $100.00 per hour.

Q: Can I show a movie during the daytime?
A: Not with traditional movie equipment--our projectors require dark conditions for optimum viewing.

Q: What type of format is needed for a movie?
A:  We provide a DVD player so the movie will need to be in DVD format.  If you are streaming, we can provide a FireStick; however, you will need to make sure that the area you are streaming from has adequate buffering.  The device provided MUST have an HDMI output.

Q: Will the screens or equipment damage the grass?
A: Because the weight is equally distributed over a large surface area, even our larger screens will not damage or leave ruts in your grass.

Q: Do you offer any concession services?

A:  We can make arrangements with local vendors for concession, catering and even food trucks.

Q. What is your cost?

Several factors influence the cost.  Size of screen, day of week, amount of travel involved, and choice of pre-movie entertainment. For a detailed price quote, please call Night Time Flicks at (678) 914-8117.

Q. When can we start the movie?

Movies can begin at dusk (about 15 minutes before dark). No image can be projected onto the screen during the day. Pre-movie activities can begin up to 2 hours prior to the movie. We will provide the sound system with music and a microphone for announcements. Attendees generally arrive early, so pre movie activities are very popular.

Q.  Do we need a license to play a movie?

Requirement of a movie license depends on the size, location and audience of your event.  Generally speaking, if you are showing a movie for a small group of family and friends in an intimate setting, you will not need a license.  However, showing movies for large public events require a public performance license.

Fees and available movie titles are determined by the movie studios. Prices are influenced by multiple factors including estimated audience size, studio, and time of year.
